CMC report on health complaints handed on

An independent report into misconduct claims by a Queensland medical investigator turned whistleblower has been handed to a parliamentary committee.

Retired Justice Richard Chesterman looked into Jo Barber's claims of manslaughter in the health system, and staff working under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

His report was completed on July 11 and provided to CMC chairman Ross Martin, and has now been passed to the PCMC (Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee), the CMC says.
Mr Chesterman's role was to determine the detail of what Ms Barber could provide, prioritise the issues raised and provide a framework for any further examination.
His assessment has so far resulted in criminal allegations against a Gold Coast doctor being referred to police.
The CMC says it's not appropriate to comment on Mr Chesterman's conclusions until the PCMC and relevant ministers have considered them.
"At this time, any decision concerning provision of the reports to parties is a matter for the PCMC," it said in a statement.
"Similarly, any future decision about potential public release of the reports is first a consideration for the PCMC."
The CMC continues to assess information provided by independent MP Peter Wellington concerning other allegations of medical misconduct.
Those claims were also provided to Mr Chesterman as part of a separate assessment of whether there is evidence of systemic failings in the Queensland health system.

Another government cover up with no consequences or rather jail time.

A corrupt system protecting itself.
